The Fox ESS H3 PRO 25kW is a high-capacity three-phase hybrid inverter for commercial buildings, agricultural sites, large residences, and facilities with substantial daytime and evening electricity demand. It combines PV generation, battery charging and discharging, grid interaction, AC charging, and EPS backup in a single high-voltage platform. Fox ESS places the model within the H3 PRO range of 15–30kW, designed for high-demand sites and scalable storage.

Overview

The H3 PRO platform uses three MPPTs, up to two strings per MPPT in the published system description, a 160V start-up voltage, two battery inputs, EPS function, IP65 protection, and remote monitoring. Fox ESS describes compatibility with high-voltage EP and EQ/CQ battery families and parallel operation up to ten units when AI Link requirements are met. The 25kW model can therefore be used as a single large inverter or as part of a larger system, subject to the exact product version, battery architecture, interconnection design, and local approval. The published family features should be verified against the current 25kW datasheet before they are converted into a formal specification table. 3

A 25kW three-phase rating can be appropriate for a commercial property with a large daytime load, such as refrigeration, water pumping, agricultural processing, machinery, office equipment, or multiple cooling systems. Solar production can be used directly by the site, stored for later use, or exported subject to the approved interconnection. The battery can reduce grid imports in the evening and provide a reserve for selected circuits during a power interruption. The exact backup performance depends on the EPS output rating, battery power, state of charge, reserve settings, load surge, and phase distribution.

Key features

System sizing should distinguish the PV array, inverter output, and battery energy. A 25kW inverter can convert up to its rated AC power, but the battery may not be able to charge or discharge at that same rate unless its own power rating and module count permit it. Similarly, a battery with a large kWh capacity provides longer runtime but does not automatically increase the inverter’s output. High-demand motors and compressors should be assessed for starting behaviour, and essential loads should be separated from nonessential loads. Three-phase sites also need a review of unbalanced loads, neutral current, power factor, and generator compatibility.

IP65 protection makes the unit suitable for a properly selected indoor or outdoor location, but the enclosure still needs drainage, clearance, cooling, service access, and protection from corrosive or excessively hot environments. Monitoring can provide operating data and alarms, but it depends on communications hardware and internet connectivity. Before ordering, confirm model suffix, PV voltage and current, AC current, EPS limits, battery pairing, AI Link requirements, grid certification, warranty, and commissioning.

Applications and compatibility

The H3 PRO can support a staged investment approach because the platform may be installed as battery-ready grid-tied equipment before storage is added. Once batteries are installed, the selected EP or EQ/CQ configuration must follow Fox ESS compatibility and expansion rules. Mixing battery models or generations without written approval can compromise performance and warranty.
